As a general rule, Google moves from year to year to focus on hardware or software news. This year, the number of devices was higher than in 2018.

Now that the keynote speech is over, we can confirm some of the rumours of the last few months: The 3A pixel is real, as is the leaked Nest Hub Max smart display.

There's also a lot of announcements about what's going to come from Android Q when it's officially released to consumers later this year, and some updates will soon be provided to the Google Wizard.

3A PIXEL AND 3A XL ARE ON SALE TODAY

The cheaper Pixels are official with Pixel 3A and 3A XL which, yes, come with headphone jacks. The phones cost $399 and come with the advanced camera features for which the Pixel range is famous, including features such as Night Sight, Super Res Zoom and portrait mode on both the front and back.

THE NEST HUB MAX IS AN INTELLIGENT DISPLAY WITH A CAMERA

Google announced that the Google Home line would now be renamed under the umbrella of Google Nest and announced a new product for this line: the Nest Hub Max at $229 . The device is essentially a combination of the Nest camera, Google Home Hub and Google Home Max, offering a security camera, a smart display and speakers, all in one gadget.

ANDROID Q BETA 3 DROPS: DARK THEME, NEW DIGITAL WELLBEING MODE, SMART REPLY

You can download the latest beta version of Android Q today, which now offers Dark Theme for every standard Android application.

We saw it at the beginning of the Android Q beta, but we couldn't enable or disable it. Now you can manually select the colors of the reverse application or enable it using the battery saving mode. Verge editor Dieter Bohn had the opportunity to test it. He explains that the colours are true black, not dark grey, which could further reduce the battery charge.

ANDROID WILL SOON OFFER LIVE SUBTITLES ON ALL VIDEOS

Google brings Live Caption to all videos . When you're watching a video, whether it's on your film, on an application / on the web or even on video conversations, Google may soon start adding subtitles to what's being said directly below.

The company said it was designed for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, but some people might also use it if they are watching videos in public and want to limit the volume or be in communication.
Live Caption is also added to phone calls, adding a live transcript of the conversation in progress to help people with hearing loss understand what is being said.

GOOGLE MAPS SWITCHES TO PRIVATE BROWSING MODE

As part of Google's efforts to try to minimize location tracking and searches, Google Maps will soon switch to private browsing mode for more private searches.

This will be available both on the web and in the application, and just one week after the company announced that it will allow users to automatically delete their location, website and application activity between three to eighteen months.
