The Japanese brand Honda took advantage of the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show to unveil a prototype motorcycle equipped with a system derived from its balance control bicycle.

As you can see in the video, the bike stands on its own two wheels, with or without a rider. Another feat is that the bike can even follow its owner by riding behind him or her.

A look back at this innovation

Honda has been working for many years on robotic machines dedicated to preserving or restoring the mobility of the elderly, It is in this logic that Honda has worked on concepts of exoskeletal walking aids, The motorcycle is equipped with a gyroscopic system that keeps it in balance and reacts to the movements of the rider on the seat, The result is impressive.

The result is impressive. The bike remains balanced on both wheels and the rider can even stand on the footrests without falling off.

          Auto-équilibrage

When the motorcycle stops or is traveling at less than 4.8 km/h, the engines act on the two-wheeler, correcting the vehicle's attitude to keep it in balance," explains Turbo magazine.

This self-balancing solution already equips the Honda Uni-Cub prototype, an omnidirectional wheelchair with electric propulsion.

With this technology, everyone will be able to make pinders without any problem, but also no longer have to put one foot down at a red light.

As a bonus, the owner will be able to be followed by his motorcycle, better than a pet.
